Great pair of tits: Stevie Pierson in Miami with brother Mark and a large-chested cheerleader. |
Where Are They Now?
Two former Woodhurst legends, Mike Kelleher and Steve Pierson, teamed-up again recently in Miami, Florida. Pierson's stag do was the occasion, and former Miami resident and Woodhurst Club Secretary, Mike guides us through the diary of events in the USA hotspot.

Wednesday 17th November
Pierson's boys have been in Miami for two days now and I'm joining them on an internal flight from my new home in West Virginia. I meet the lads late afternoon at their hotel on South Beach, they are slightly tanned/burnt and obviously still feeling the effects of the last two nights. There's one or two familiar faces from the Monkhams Buckhurst Hill; Pierson's brother, Mark and of course the Legend himself, Steve. A card school is in progress - nothing heavy, just Black Jack (not the casino version, but a game I haven't seen since lunch time school days when it was too wet to play football). No boozing in progress - tonight the Buckhurst Hill contingent make their football debut on the World stage against Coral Gables United under the floodlights of Phillips Park, Coral Gables Florida.
The tourists borrow a few of Gables rejects (all three the wrong side of 40!) and also borrow Gables' red England shirts and are very much representing their country. Kelleher in midfield (lacking pace) and Pierson up front (unusually from the beginning) is captaining the side. The game kicks off at a frenetic pace - the Gables team contains many seasoned ex-pat campaigners with a sprinkling of South American flare, the tourists contain mostly Monkhams piss-heads - Gables take an early lead but some organization and some outstanding play by Goalkeeper and West Ham fan Lee as well as Pierson the elder at Centre Half sees the touring party weather the storm - it also made Kelleher wish he'd pursued his interest in Mark Pierson joining Woodhurst 5 or 6 years ago with greater persistence. The tourists go on to level the scoring and notch a further 3 without reply, including a well struck volley by Stevey P - reminiscent of his glory years in the Maroon and Blue which earnt him two goal of the season awards, to reach half time.
A chaotic second half saw the boozing and warm November evening in Miami get the better of the Essex boys (though the home side commented this was the coldest night of the year!). There was some confusion over the final score 7-7 or 6-7 to the tourists but what all agreed was it was time to hit the boozer..and onto the Loggerhead Coconut Grove for pitchers of ale and free wings (an American thing!). Both teams seemed equally at home in this environment, home captain Richard Hubbard presented Steve Pierson and the winners with the trophy (which looked too small for Subbuteo), and the tourists headed back to Miami Beach happy….and onto Mangos until 5am ready for another day.
The next couple of days saw a variety of events, the stag party having shown their football ability were off to explore Miami - a trip to the Everglades was missed by the author however a trip that night to the Gold Rush (Miami's 24 hour Lap Dancing Club) was not, and as they say what goes on tour stays on tour..
Friday 19th November
By now I'd remembered why I'd only decided to join Steve for three nights and not the full seven; in by 6am up by 1pm back out by 6pm. Tonight something different Shaquille O'Neal's Miami Heat v's Utah Jazz in the NBA at The American Airlines Arena, Miami. Pre-match boozing and speculation began in Hooters bar next to the arena. There was some uneasiness about missing the kick off (if that's what its called) but when the uneasy were reminded the game lasts over three hours we settled for another pitcher.
The atmosphere was outstanding, cheerleaders stunning, and Shaquille very tall! Chants of "Let's Go Heat!" and "Defense" were as creative as the home fans got. In the England end the Budweiser was flowing and Anglo American relations were going well, even though most of the Americans thought we were Australian! One Heat fan made the bold statement of victory with his team around 12 points down - obviously never been to Upton Park! The game itself, though not completely understood was very exciting and climaxed with the Heat winning with the last throw in overtime - the crowd erupted and the England end burst into a chorus of "We're not going home" a la England fans at Japan 2002 - much to the amusement of all around them.
The rest of the evening is much of a blur, I know we went back to Hooters and then onto mainland Miami's watering holes until they'd serve us no more (about 5 or 6am). The next thing I knew it was Saturday lunchtime and I was at Fort Lauderdale airport picking up the future Mrs. Kelleher who was down for a few days holiday - she thought I looked great and was particularly impressed with my new aftershave eau de ale….. not sure where my stag do will be yet, chances are it won't be Miami…..
Good luck to Steve and his future wife who are due to be married next month.
