Historical Player Profiles

From the Prague 2000 Tour programme
Mike IS Woodhurst. Alongside his dad, the Legend Bill, they are part of the club's folklore. Club secretary and assistant coach, it's Mike's on-the-field work ethic that enables the rest of us to look that much better. Away from football Mike's hobby, Bird Preservation, is where he really shines. It's not uncommon for him to be talking to chicks or stroking some Great Tits.
From the Denmark 2001 Tour programme
This weekend will be a farewell to alcohol-fuelled foreign rinses for Mike, for he will be soon heading for pastures new and the subdued setting of Miami where he will be starting a new and more responsible life as an executive in the sports industry. 'Mr Woodhurst' will be donning white suits and shoes and a black curly perm. He has also picked out his first evening attire to 'wow' the Florida residents, a red leather bomber jacket and a single pink fingerless glove. Mike will be in a clinic by Christmas.
From the Vicenza 2002 Tour programme
Mike turned his back on Woodhurst nearly a year ago for the sunny climes of Miami, but the fact he has returned for the tour is a testament not only to the man, but to the culture of The Club. If anyone doesn't recognise Mike, he's the one with the suntan and the white slip-on shoes who keeps saying, "Hey Guys, How you doin." Make sure, if we have a whip, Mike doesn't keep going to the bar. We don't want to blow all of our float on tips, you know what these 'Shermans' are like.
