Essex Sunday Corinthian League Division One

Referee: John Vaughan

Woodhurst brought 2004 to a close with a comprehensive 6-2 drubbing of Lakeview on a rain-soaked Fairlop Oak pitch.

In difficult conditions and a mud-bath of a surface, Roy Lawley's men produced some fine football to grab all three points in this top of the table clash. Lakeview, two points ahead of the Hurst going into the game, were out of this match very early as Jimmy Woodham gave the visitors the lead collecting a Jamie Bradbury cross to shot past the diving 'keeper from 20 yards.

Bradbury then turned up the pressure with a well executed hat-trick, his first of the season, before the break to make it four-nil to Woodhurst and all but send the points to Nelson Road.

After the break, Woodhurst continued to create chances but at the back were also coming under much more pressure as the home team looked to get something from the game.

Jan Souleyman, who had seen an earlier 'certain goal' stop in the mud just short of the goal line made it five with a deft chip into the far corner after cutting in from the left. Then substitutue Kofi Owusu added to his and the Hurst's tally in the closing moments all but cancelling out the two second half lakeview strikes.
