Referee: Lloyd Wood |
A disappointing end to a hard-fought match saw Woodhurst robbed of a point by a soft penalty decision and miss out on a chance to go top of the table.

Both sides battled well in a very even contest that could well have gone either way. The first half was perhaps shaded by the home side, but even during their better periods only really troubled stand-in 'keeper Patrick Ladbury once.
Woodhurst had their share of possession, but throughout much of the game the final ball was lacking.
However, after the break, the Hurst stepped up a gear and looked to take the game to Cambourne, but yet again the crucial pass went astray and rarely was the Wednesday 'keeper tested.
But this game would come down to two penalty calls and how the referee would interpret them. First as Paul McShea looked ready to shoot from no more than ten yards, a leg hooked around him from behind tripping over the Hurst legend and missing the ball completely. But the young ref was not interested, and perhaps he could be forgiven for not wanting such an important game to be decided from the penalty spot.
Then with two minutes left on the clock and the game seemingly heading for a stalemate he showed that the thought never crossed his mind handing Cambourne a chance to win it from the spot.
As a long ball dropped between Bashford and Ladbury, the ball seemed to brush the arm of the Hurst skipper as he helped it back to the number one. 'Backpass' was the cry when the whistle was heard, but the man in black decided that it was to be a penalty - all but laying three important league points on a plate for Cambourne Wednesday.
